The Expired Printable Subway Coupon That Went Far

With menu prices having become extremely competitive in many restaurants because of an economy still in desperate need of straightening out, it's a welcome sight to see a printable Subway coupon you can actually use.

I love eating lunch and dinner at this giant sub sandwich shop because aside from the quality of their sandwiches and great service, their consistency in all of these areas is extremely consistent; I can go just about anywhere in my city, present a free Subway coupon, and be enjoying a delicious 12 inch sub in no time flat!

My family and I recently visited our favorite Subway sandwich shop, we bought our usual 5 dollar foot longs with chips and drinks, and sat down to eat. A few minutes later a really sweet looking senior citizen entered and proceeded to order an unknown item which she claimed she had a free Subway coupon for (we were at a table to the side and near the window about 30 feet away).

When the poor guy working the counter informed her the coupon had expired, she almost blew a gasket. She insisted the coupon was valid and she started dialing a number on her cell phone.

Sure enough, exactly as I think everybody expected, she asked the person on the other end in a loud voice for everyone to hear, "Matt, these coupons you gave me are valid, right?" Then she hung up the phone and continued her tirade.

The poor worker preparing food showed far more patience than I or anybody else would have and called the manager. When the manager came out, we couldn't hear what he was saying even though our ears were glued in his direction, but he managed to calm the lady down.

It turns out he offered her some kind of discount on her meal while telling her he would do this for her just this once. He politely informed her she must present a valid unexpired subway coupon in the future if she's going to expect to redeem it.

It was a smart move on the manager's part; he probably knew one customer wasn't going to make or break the restaurant's bottom line, and he got his message across in a polite manner.

This lady must have had some nerve, and it got me wondering if she pulls this kind of show everywhere she goes, just to get a good, free discounted meal. There are people like this everywhere, and it almost defeats the purpose. Hey, I know times are tough, but c'mon, really!

The worst part of the whole ordeal for the Subway employees was that she left a huge mess on her table. She quickly scarfed down her food, missed placing her sandwich on the wrapping paper, and she left a mayonnaise trail that looked like someone squirted her table as a practical joke.

For just a moment it got me thinking; as bad as times are right now, maybe I should try to pull off the same type of exhibit and end up getting discounts and free meals! Nahh- that's not my style. I think I'll stick to free Subway sandwich coupons.
